Innovation ecosystem
The Firepool Centre for Digital Innovation is part of Somerset Council’s wider network of innovation and enterprise centres, which also includes the iAero Centre in Yeovil and the Somerset Energy Innovation Centre in Bridgwater.
The iAero Centre focuses on aerospace and advanced engineering, and the Somerset Energy Innovation Centre focusses on Somerset’s growing clean energy sector.
Somerset’s network of Innovation Centres is itself embedded within a innovation ecosystem in the South West of England and beyond. This ecosystem includes regional and national centres of excellence, research institutions, and funding bodies.

Innovation support services
The Somerset Innovation Network (SI-Net) provides support to tenants and users of the Centre, as well as Somerset Council’s other flagship innovation centres, the Somerset Energy Innovation Centre (SEIC) near Bridgwater, and the iAero Centre in Yeovil.
The service provides bespoke growth support for ambitious, innovative businesses to help them innovate and grow.
